Who Is Quality Plastics?
Quality Plastics Inc. has manufactured custom plastic products for a variety of industries since its inception in 1976. Products we have made have filled many functions in laboratories, medical equipment, displays, electronics, motor vehicles, entertainment, agriculture, watercraft, aircraft, and even outer space.
Our competitive advantage lies in our ability to assist our customers with their product design, tooling or fabrication methods, and to produce quality product on time.
Our professionalism and commitment to excellence exceed industry standards.
Product Design Assistance
Our design team is happy to meet with you as you work through the design process. We can assist you with material selections as well as point out design considerations to make your product more effective and less costly.
SolidWorks is the software backbone of our product design followed by SurfCam for tool path generation on our CNC equipment. We tie our manufacturing activities together to meet your requirements with JobBoss, our enterprise management system. With these three elements, we can ensure effective production planning to assure that your expectations are met.
Dimensioning and tolerancing are important skills to assure functionality and control costs. We are experienced in the best practice of dimensioning and tolerancing for our manufacturing processes.
Quality Planning
Quality is in our name. Our focus on quality is to assure that the product we deliver meets your expectations. We start by creating a quality plan in JobBoss then follow through with Build Quality In (BQI) during the manufacturing process. BQI means that every operator is an inspector to guarantee that what is made at his/her workstation is a quality product.
Our Quality System is ISO compliant. All inspection tools are regularly calibrated. Records of quality performance are maintained as a part of all work orders for a minimum of 5 years.
Respecting Intellectual Property
Quality Plastics Inc. actively strives to protect and respect the intellectual property rights of others. If the product you present to us is protected by Patents or Trademarks, we request that this information be disclosed in our first meeting. If Trade Secrets are involved, we are happy to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement with you.

Vacuum Forming
Quality Plastics’ main production process is Vacuum Forming. A part is created from a flat thermoplastic sheet by heating a rigid sheet, draping the sheet over a tool, and forming the softened material against the tool by vacuuming the air from between the sheet and tool surface.
The rigid formed part is then trimmed to remove excess material and to create other design features such as holes, slots, and cutouts. Other finishing process can be used to add features, create sub-assemblies, etc…
Trimming is accomplished via 5-axis CNC routers. Routing is augmented with laser cutting, sawing, and steel rule die cutting.
Most of our vacuum-form tooling is machined from aluminum billet. Aluminum provides faster processing time and a more dimensionally stable part. Large parts may be tooled from hard woods or high temperature fiberglass. We cut all of our own tooling in-house using customer supplied CAD models.
Vacuum Form Materials Used:
- Acrylic
- Impact Modified Acrylic
- ABS – General Purpose
- ABS – Fire Retardant
- Kydex
- TPO
- Polypropylene
- Polycarbonate
- Polycarbonate Glass Coated (FMR)
- PETG
- PVC
- Styrene
- TPU
- Polyethylene (high and low density)
Drape Forming
Drape Forming is used to create optically clear parts from flat sheets. Parts are precut, heated to a pliable state, then placed into a form where they assume the desired shape. The form is covered with a soft material to eliminate mark off during the forming process.
We have proprietary processes to create optically clear parts which have sharp mechanical detail.
Drape Forming Materials Used:
